Frequently
Asked Questions

Is this course suitable for my pet business?
Yes - our level 2 course is great to give you the skills to care for pets in your care. We are an official training Centre for ProTrainings, and this course will give you a VTQ and CPD certificate in pet care, that will last 3 years.
Whilst the UK currently has no requirements for pet professionals to have a pet first aid certificate, we strongly recommend it as a way to ensure you can deliver the best care and reassure your clients.
As well as the 3 hour Level 2 course, we are also able to deliver Pet First Aid for Pet Professionals Level 3 (VTQ), which covers in much more detail about the different injuries and illnesses that can affect dogs and cats. The Level 3 course is held in two parts - Online and Classroom. The Online part of the course requires students to complete online training, this is then followed by a six hour classroom session. To find out more about our Level 3 course, email info@fourleggedfirstaid.co.uk.
Is there an exam?
In order to get your certificate through the post from ProTrainings you must complete a short multiple-choice test at the end of the three hour course. The test is sent to your phone to complete on the day, and will take no more than 5 minutes. If you don't have a smartphone, we can provide a device for you to complete it on. We promise that it's not daunting and we're on hand to make sure you breeze it!
If you would rather not complete it, that's no problem. You'll still come away with the same great training and knowledge!
Can I bring my pet?
Unfortunately not - as much as we love meeting your lovely pets, we can't allow them in the training course (it's much too distracting!). All our hands-on training is done on manekins and dummies.
How many people will be on my course?
Most of our courses are run for up to 12 people, with training delivered by Mat or Mel (or sometimes you're lucky and get the both of us!).
Is there a minimum age for the course?
We can only allow those over the age of 16 onto our course.
